people in establishment, assessing and rewarding for performance, and
increasing their full prospective for the achievement of organizational
objectives.
Cresta
Group of Hotels practice productivity for the employees in sport participating
across the hotels, the Group has different sporting codes being played, soccer,
volleyball, netball. The Group also
promotes country sporting competitions between the Cresta in Botswana and
Cresta in Zimbabwe. The interaction between these groups is believed to impact
positively on employee motivation and build team work within the cresta
employees as the learn to work as groups.
Question: What could be the
liabilities of a human resource manager at Cresta Group for the teams, groups
and individuals?

Invanceich & Matteson (2002) explained that working in the hospitality industry means you are working in a team, and becoming an effective team player is very essential for the success of not only the team itself but also of the business as a whole.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Nickson (2007) an employee of organization which offers hospitality services, whether your job is a supervisor or a simple member of a group or team, the spirit of teamwork plays a vital role for the success of the team you’re working with and this accomplishment will reflect also on the business as a whole.
To become an effective leader of a team, interaction among the team members is very important and to maintain the essence of teamwork as well. If you are a team manager or group supervisor, as a leader you’re main concern would be on how to encourage the members of your group to cooperate and be part of the team’s objectives (Heery & Noon 2001). This can be a difficult task to deal with but in the long run, once you see that you’re team members are interacting to each other very well, then it will be easy for you to ask their support in fulfilling every mission and goals of the business. For you to meet the expectation of the industry and become an effective team player, just take note of the important aspects on how to keep up the teamwork within the workplace (Faculty of Business, 2006).

ReplyDeleteThe Cresta Group they keep in mind that in a workplace, no one is working just for the benefit of an individual or for the manager itself, every member in spite of his or her position contributes for the realization of the establishment main goal, to provide good customer satisfaction.
ReplyDeleteThe first golden rule for the human resources manager is to make sure that they involve their people together as a team, team spirit of employees. Keen human resource managers realize that by involving your people they will understand the common cause and the greater good (Conor, 2010).
